Spider Veins
Spider Veins are small reddish and/ or bluish vessels that are located superficially in the skin. They occur commonly on the legs and are an issue cosmetically although they may also cause some symptoms of discomfort.
Varicose Veins
These are larger bluish veins that may elevate above the surface of the skin. These often lead to more involvement distally in the leg. They can cause swelling in the feet or leg and lead to sores or red rashes in these areas. When treated the circulation in the legs improves.
Sclerotherapy
This is a therapeutic option for both spider veins and varicose veins in the leg. The procedure involves using a small needle to inject a solution into the vein causing it to collapse, and resolve usually over several weeks.
